Offices Reopen June 1 2020 – View Current Guidelines
In light of the COVID-19 emergency, Marion County Housing Authority (MCHA) has implemented the following temporary changes to our operating procedures. The health and safety of our staff and clients is our top concern, and we appreciate your cooperation during this time.
Rent is due on the 1st of the month (late after the 10th). All residents should make payments at local banks. We have a wide range of locations that accept MCHA payments. If this is an option you have not used before, please call our office; our staff can direct you to your closest banking facility that accepts MCHA payments. Even if you are making payments for balances other than rent, rest assured that we will credit your account accordingly. Your AMP Manager will be available via phone or e-mail if you need to discuss your payment.
As of June 1, the MCHA office will resume full time operations (8:30am – 4pm, M-F). The office will remain closed to the general public. Appointments will be made as necessary.
For appointments, the following protocols will be in place:
a) All visitors must not be symptomatic for COVID-19. All visitors must be screened.
b) Upon arrival, visitors should call the office to alert us of their arrival.
i) Visitors must remain in their vehicle until it is time for the appointment. At this time, MCHA staff will greet the visitor at the door and escort him/her to the appropriate office. Only the adult necessary for the appointment will be permitted entry (head of household, etc). Anyone else must wait outside.
c) While inside, visitors will be required to observe the following:
i) A cloth face covering will be REQUIRED (one will be provided if not present).
ii) Social distancing must be observed to the greatest extent possible.
If you simply need to deliver documents to the MCHA office, you are asked to utilize the drop box or US Mail.
Forms are available on our website. If you have completed an application, you can e-mail, fax or mail it to our office. A listing of staff e-mails is available on our website.
If you need to report a change in income, you may do so by e-mail, fax or mail.
Only emergency related work orders will be completed during this time. All work orders should still be called in, but please note that they will not be addressed at this time unless it is an emergency. Be prepared for our staff to ask if you (or anyone in your apartment) is currently sick; this is in an effort to keep everyone’s health a top priority.
All public housing inspections will be delayed until further notice.
Public spaces (with the exception of laundry rooms) will be closed until further notice.
Thank you for your cooperation!
