Updated COVID Precautions
In light of the COVID-19 emergency, Marion County Housing Authority (MCHA) has implemented the following temporary changes to our operating procedures. The health and safety of our staff and clients is our top concern, and we appreciate your cooperation during this time.
Rent is due on the 1st of the month (late after the 10th). All residents should make payments at local banks. We have a wide range of locations that accept MCHA payments. If this is an option you have not used before, please call our office; our staff can direct you to your closest banking facility that accepts MCHA payments. Even if you are making payments for balances other than rent, rest assured that we will credit your account accordingly. Your AMP Manager will be available via phone or e-mail if you need to discuss your payment.
As of November 17, 2020, the MCHA office will be closed to the general public. Applicants and Residents will be seen by appointment. Our office hours will remain M – F 8:30am to 4pm.
For appointments, the following protocols will be in place:
a) All visitors must not be symptomatic for COVID-19. All visitors must be screened.
b) Upon arrival, visitors should call the office to alert us of their arrival. Visitors must remain in their vehicle until it is time for the appointment. At this time, MCHA staff will greet the visitor at the door and escort him/her to the appropriate office. Only the adult necessary for the appointment will be permitted entry (head of household, etc). Anyone else must wait outside.
c) While inside, visitors will be required to observe the following: (i) A cloth face covering will be REQUIRED (one will be provided if not present). (ii) Social distancing must be observed to the greatest extent possible.
If you simply need to deliver documents to the MCHA office, you are asked to utilize the drop box or US Mail. Our website, www.mchahomes.org, also offers an easy way to upload documents.
Applications can be made online at www.mchahomes.org
If you need to report a change in income, you may do so by e-mail, fax or mail.
All Work Order needs should be reported. Be prepared for our staff to ask if you (or anyone in your apartment) is currently sick; this is in an effort to keep everyone’s health a top priority. Depending on the risk to residents and staff, some repairs may be postponed until safety can be maintained.
If you receive an Inspection notification, follow the instructions given. Contact your property manager with questions.
Public spaces (with the exception of laundry rooms) will be closed until further notice.
Thank you for your cooperation!
